Mathura 2019.09.21 (VT): Ram Leela Mahotsav is aall set to start from Sep 23 in the holy city. The festival will start with a rath yatra of Lord Ganesha’s. Ram Barat (wedding procession of Lord Ram) will be organised on Oct 1 which will include more than 50 tableaus.
Shri Gopeshwarnath Chaturvedi (Guardian of the Shri Ram Leela Association) said that the organising committee has already discussed the arrangements of the festival with the city administration. The committee has asked to repair the roads from Lal Darwaza to Chowk Bazar and Bharatpur Gate areas so that the Barat can move swiftly. The electricity board has also got the instructions from the DM’s office to provide uninterrupted power supply during Ram Barat and Dussehra.
Chairman of the organising committee Umesh Agarwal and Secretary Banwari Lal Garg said that new actors have already been selected for the stage performance of Ram Leela.
The programme will start with the “Mukut Pujan” (crown worshipping) at Shri Krishna Janmbhoomi on Sep 23 at 10 am. Yatra of Lord Ganesha will start from Keshavdev Angan at 4 pm same day. Performances will be held at Shri Krishna Janmsthan, Chitrkoot, Ram Leela ground, Vishram Ghat and Lal Darwaza.
