Canadian Prime minister visits Braj’s Elephant sanctuary

Farah, 2018.02.19 (VT) As part of his first tour of India, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau visited Braj’s  Elephant Sanctuary on Sunday. The Canadian PM, who is travelling around India with his family, praised the work of wildlife conservation organizations like Wildlife SOS, which runs the Elephant Sanctuary in Farah. PM Trudeau said that, in a changing world, we have to do everything we can to protect wildlife for the sake of future generations.

The Canadian PM and his young children enjoyed hand-feeding the elephants with grass. They were in the shelter for almost an hour, during which time the PM inspected the elephant enclosures and their bathing pond. He asked staff about the habits of the elephants and about their favourite food. PM Trudeau spoke to the Co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, Kartik Satyanarayan who informed him about the work being done across India to protect elephants.

The Canadian PM was welcomed in Mathura by SSP Swapnil Mamgai and DM Sarvagya Ram Mishra, who presented him with a bouquet of flowers. The Canadian PM and his family reached the Elephant Sanctuary by road and continued on from there to the Taj Mahal.
