Vrindavan 2016.09.24 (VT): Governor of Uttar Pradesh Shri Ram Naik inaugurated newly built Nivedita Nurse Hostel at Ram Krishna Mission Sevashram Hospital (RKMS) in Vrindavan on Saturday. Shri Naik also appreciated the RKMS for providing free services for more than 100 years and said that this is a lesson for the rest of the world.
Governor’s helicopter landed at the Mont Road helipad on Saturday morning from where he was taken to the hospital in car. Shri Naik reached Swami Vivekanand Auditorium of RKMS at 9:20 am, half an hour before schedule, and inaugurated the Nivedita hostel. While addressing the crowd, Shri Naik said that the services provided by RKMS from the past 109 years are a milestone for the whole world.
Shri Naik further said that constructing the Hostel in 11 months and naming it after Sister Nivedita is a commendable job. Sister Nivedita was the disciple of Swami Vivekanand and spent all her life in serving patients. She was the founder of Ramkrishna Sarada Mission Sister Nivedita Girls’ School. Governor also honoured Shri Shaailendra Singh who is the Director of SBR (builder for the hostel).
Secretary of Sevashram Swami Suprakash Nand said that RKMS follows the principles laid by Swami Vivekananda, to treat their patients. He said that the hospital is also serving society through educational programmes for poor children, beside other social activities and awareness programmes.

Speaking about RKMS, Swami Ji said that the campus have a 178 bed hospital besides a nursing school in the premises. He said that the nursing school has been there from the past 34 years and nurses from here are serving in 13 states across the nation. The newly built hostel has a capacity to accommodate 120 nurse students and was build at a cost of 5 crore rupees. Assistant Secretary of RKMS Shri Kali Krishna Nand informed about the services in detail which the hospital is taking from the past 109 years.
Chaitanya Kumar (representative of Tata Trust, Mumbai) said that Tata Trust is amongst the biggest business houses of the country which take care of the social responsibilities with equal seriousness; and that why the Trust has joined hands with RKMS for funding the social causes.
Chairman of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited Shri Satish Agnihotri said that RKMS is the best organisation to route the social services. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
